This morning Lili and I had to complete our “To-Do” list from the other day. Following the excitement of planting the bareroot rose yesterday we decided we would conquer the front rose bush. It is hard to believe that when we moved in it was one of four living things in the entire yard. This rose bush has been my pet project as roses are my absolute favorite flower. I have groomed and loved it, bringing it back from near death. Last year I was blessed with some gorgeous ross. It has not been the easiest of tasks, yet, it has definitely been rewarding. When they are in bloom we are blessed with their fragrant aroma every morning.
Today it was time to cut them back. We started by cutting off every branch smaller in diameter than a pencil.
After that we filled all the holes with wood glue to prevent rot and insect infestation.
In the end we were rewarded with a Naked Rose Bush! hich Lili found hysterical!
Now It’s GAMETIME!
We added Rose fertilizer and one month later look at all that growth!
